Andrew Naing, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist in New York City, where he practices his special style of medicine at Eversight Eye Center. Dr. Naing has an intense interest in technology and the ways in which it can enhance everyday lives, especially in the delivery of healthcare. In the ever evolving field of ophthalmology, technology has been advancing at an extremely rapid pace in the past few years, more so than at any other time before it. It is Dr. Naing’s goal to incorporate these advancements into his patient care to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. At the same time he tries not to be limited by a conventional focus on physical complaints, but rather likes to question the ways in which behaviors, beliefs, and lifestyles can affect a patient’s eyes, an often overlooked piece of the puzzle. In such a way he believes in a more holistic approach to eye care.
Andrew Naing, MD:
“When Medicine combines knowledge, experience, and technology with communication and a strong desire to improve patients’ lives, we have the best practice of Medicine. I strive to achieve this ideal combination of elements to deliver quality patient care.
Today we live in a world where technology is bridging the gap between people, helping us get in touch with our patients and give them access to the latest treatment options. These are exciting times in which modern medicine is extending our reach and abilities and ophthalmology is poised to take advantage of these advancements. We can now offer options that expand and enhance patients’ eyesight and treat their eye diseases in novel ways, options that were not available just a few years ago. However, even in light of these marvelous developments, I still believe in taking the time to understand a patient’s chief complaint and exploring different ways to resolve their problem, not just through medicine or procedures but also through behavioral and lifestyle changes. I believe in the patients’ active participation in their healthcare and stress communication as an important element. Communication allows the doctor to better diagnose medical conditions and the patient to understand their problems and treatment options. It also allows the patient to take control of their lives so they can treat themselves. In this way, they become an active participant rather than a bystander. We understand this concept quite well, since our office communicates in five different languages. We live in an exciting world and I am glad to be a part of it, delivering eye care to my patients. Most of all, I wish to make them see better and feel better!”
Meet Our Staff
When we train our staff, we instill a philosophy that the patient’s healthcare is of primary importance. We feel that once this belief is ingrained into our minds, then courtesy, professionalism, and helpfulness will become second nature. We don’t claim to be perfect but we hope you feel that we truly wish to deliver great healthcare.
